Sugi was initially silent and aloof except for pin-pointing and raised feathers but we didn't know the body language then. One morning about a week later when my wife started vacuuming, he fired up with "Sugimac's a good bird", "I love you", "Sugimac's a pretty bird", "HI!!" and, in a definite woman's voice, "Owww!!! BAD BIRD! BAD BIRD!". Which pretty much explains why we have him now.
He's since become well acclimated to us, but, since we've gotten Jazzy, his vocabulary has pretty much degraded to Hello and Hi with the exception of, of course, their own private language.
Jazzy came to us straight from the egg and has bonded with Sugi from the time we brought him home. We were a little concerned about Sugi being jealous, and contact was well supervised for months, but there was never a problem. They play well together and although there are some fierce sounding squabbles with lots of flapping, screaming and lunging, there's never been blood drawn or a feather pulled.
